2006 FIA Formula 1™ Season
Sunday, February 19th, 2006As I write this article its 20 days 18 hrs 35 mins 45 sec
before the start of the Formula™ Season. This year’s season opener will be in Bahrain.
It has its inauguration in 2004 whereas Michael and Rubens have a back to back
podium finish with a big margin lead over the third podium finisher Jenson.
Now on its 3rd season, Bahrain will be the first one to
see new things in Formula 1™ rule book for 2006 season, like the 2.4 Litre V8
engines and the new qualifying format. It will also be the inaugurating race
for Super Aguri™, a late team entry but never the less got the go signal from
the FIA™. It will also be a debut race for restructured team such as, William™
(formerly BMW-Williams™), Honda™ (Formerly BAR-Honda™), BMW-Sauber™ (formerly
Sauber-Petronas ™), MF1™ (formerly Jordan™) Russian-backed Midland Group™ and the
Scuderia Toro Rosso™ (formerly Minardi™), sister team of Red Bull™).
This Bahrain Grand Prix will also be the debut race for Nico
Rosberg (William™), Scott Speed (Scuderia Toro Rosso™) and Yuji Ide (Super
Aguri™). Complete Drivers Line up is seen below.
This 2006 will answer some mind boggling question, such as:
Will this be Shumi’s last season?
Will Fernando’s announced transfer for 2007 to McLaren affect
his performance?
Is this Michelin’s last year in Formula 1™?
Can Ferrari™ regain the Constructor’s Championship?
Also this 2006 season, most drivers’ favorite race track is
out of the calendar (SPA- Belgian GP). Interlagos-Brazilian GP will again be
the season ender.
Now on its 57th season, Formula 1™ has become the
number one sport event for car racing. Its glamour and luster have not yet deceased,
but rather it keeps on becoming more exiting and sought after every year. Its ever-changing
rules and regulations keep the Formula 1™ apart from other car races. Now with
new engines and new team on the grid, this year’s season will be very exciting.
So let’s all wait for the 5 green light to illuminate to mark the beginning of
this year’s electrifying race.
