SHUMI DID IT!

Saturday, April 22nd, 2006

After more than a decade in Formula1™, Shumacher
have set another record that will be very hard to beat (unless by himself off
course). Michael 66th pole was the result of a great weekend for the Ferrari™
team. Running in their home GP, the Italian fans couldn’t ask for more! Next on
him on the grid for today’s race is Honda’s™ J. Button, and follow him is his
teammate and former Ferrari driver R. Barrichello. Then Fellipe Massa also a
Ferrari. Current world champion F. Alonso have had a blow this weekend thus,
qualifying on 5th, followed by R. Shumacher of Toyota™, then the two Mc-Laren
JP. Montoya and ice man K. Raikkonen. Then it was the other Toyota™ of J.
Trulli and the Williams™ of M. Webber. On the 11th place was Fisico, who was
eliminated at the second qualifying by just thousands of a second. Followed him
is former world champion J. Villeneuve.

What a qualfying, i’m sure it will be a great race
this evening.

A perfect day for the Safety Car!

Sunday, April 2nd, 2006

What an action packed weekend! Just
as the cars are forming after their warm up lap Montoya spin on the track, and
when the green light is about to illuminate, Giancarlo got a problem starting
his car, thus an additional warm up lap was needed and forcing Fisico to star
at the pit lane.

On the start of the race just
after turn one, Trulli had a problem, then Massa
and Rosberg had a collision thus a SC was needed. After the SC was called out Alonso overtakes
the race leader Jenson Button. But as Alonso is stepping up the pace another
SC was called out due to the debris
from Klien’s car that has crashed on the wall.

And after the SC was called in,
Liuzzi did a superb run by overtaking Michael in his STR™, and Montoya as well
was overtaken by his teammate Kimi.

Alonso came into pit for the
first time after lap 19 and Kimi followed suite after a lap, thus Australian
Mark Webber become the race leader.

But on lap 23, current race
leader Mark Webber who is doing a good race on his home GP have had an engine problem,
thus Alonso regain the lead from him.

On lap 34th lap
Michael Schumacher have had a problem on his car, thus sending him to crash on
the wall. There goes the last Ferrari on the track!

Due to this a third SC was needed. And this was used by most team to do their
routine pit stop. Gaining advantage from these are Ralf Schumacher, Nick Heidfeld,
and Fisico to name a few. But this pit stop have caused a delay as well
specially to Juan Pablo Montoya, for when he entered the pit lane his teammate
Kimi Raikkonen is not yet done with his refueling, thus it cause valuable
seconds for Montoya.

The timing of the exit for the 2
McLaren™ driver could have never been this unlucky, at the back of the SC was
the race leader Alonso and he was followed by 2 Midland™ drivers and Nick
Heidfeld, after them goes Kimi, so while on the SC run Kimi can’t overtake the
2 back marker Midland™ and Nick that are in front of him, thus after the SC was
called in this caused a lot of seconds for him to get pass them. And this is
what the race leader Alonso needed to widen the gap from the second placer Heidfeld.

But again as Alonso is widening
the gap, Liuzzi of the STR™ crashed his car to the wall, thus sending the
fourth
SC in. This incident
was used by Kimi and Ralf to their advantage as they grab the 2nd
and 3rd position.

After the 4th SC Alonso
tried to widen further the gap from him and Kimi, Montoya tried hard to catch
up 3rd placer Ralf Schumacher, but it seems as luck is not in his favor
as he have had a problem with his car, in almost the same place where Shumi
crashed the wall, thus sending the Columbian to retirement.

So the current race position now
is Alonso, Kimi, Ralf, Nick, Button, Fisico, Jacques Villenueve, Rubens, rookie
Scott Speed and David. It seems to me that this will be the final position for
the race. But I was wrong.

As Fisico keep hard to overtake
Button it will seem that the Italian can’t do it, so he will just have to
settle for 6th place. But luck is not in Button’s side as well. Just
2 more turn to go to end the race; his engine blew as well as his chance to get
4 points. Thus Fisico grab the 5th spot. This is just what the
rookie Scott Speed needed to gain his first ever point in his F1 career.

So the final Result for the 2006
Formula 1™ Fosters Australian GP are as follow:

  1. Alonso -10 points
  2. Kimi – 8 points
  3. Ralf – 6 points
  4. Nick -5 points
  5. Giancarlo – 4 points
  6. Jacques – 3 points
  7. Rubens – 2 points
  8. Scott – 1 point
